Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan made headlines in 2007 for having acquired farmland in Maharashtra. Bachchan acquired the land in 2000, despite state laws preventing non-farmers from acquiring agricultural land. Big B’s lawyer, senior advocate Pradeep Rai, alleged that the government tried to trap the actor and also revealed how Amitabh handled the situation.Big B had discussed the allegations on The RKB show. He said, “I am a regular person. What would they gain by dragging me in the mud? Let’s assume that they’re right, that the land is not mine and that I obtained it illegally, they’ll throw me in jail? Then I’ll go to jail. But what would the point be? I am not a politician, nor am I interested in joining politics.”
